Doug Stewart - Vice President/General Manager

This is Doug's first season with the Springfield Sliders.  He is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations of the team.

Stewart founded the sports marketing firm, Stewart Sports Group, in 2007 after seven years as Vice President/General Manager of the Omaha Royals (Triple-A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals).  During his tenure in Omaha, the Royals experienced substantial increases in community and corporate sponsor support while playing in Rosenblatt Stadium, the 24,000-seat home of the College World Series.

As Director of Sales & Marketing for the Wilmington Blue Rocks (Single-A affiliate of the Royals) for five years, he led a staff that received national awards for promotions and operational excellence. Stewart does have a connection to the Cardinals, as he was the Director of Sales & Marketing of the New Jersey Cardinals, which was their short-season Single-A affiliate of St. Louis.  He also currently serves as the Director of the Sports Advisory Group.

Doug is originally from Dover, Delaware and earned Communications and Business Administration degrees from High Point University in High Point, North Carolina.  He is married and the father of two children.

This is Justin’s second season with the Springfield Sliders. He is responsible for all stadium operations, as well as the Media Relations Department.

Prior to joining the Sliders, Justin was an intern in the Sports Department at WAOW-TV in Wausau, WI.

Justin is a 2008 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a bachelor's degree in communication.  He was the manager of the baseball team at UW-SP for three seasons, during which they played in back-to-back Division III World Series in 2006-2007, finishing 5th and 3rd respectively.

He is originally from Huntley, IL and currently resides in Springfield.

Mitch Wallner - Business Development Associate

This is Mitch's second season with the Springfield Sliders.  He served last season as the Director of Community Relations Intern.  This year, he is responsible for assisting with corporate sponsorships and sales.

Mitch is a 2009 graduate of the University of Illinois with a degree in Recreation, Sport and Tourism with a concentration in Sports Management and a minor in Political Science.  Mitch served as the team captain of the University of Illinois Hockey club for his Junior and Senior seasons.

Mitch is a Chatham, IL native and graduated from Glenwood High School in 2005.
