Kellogg CC Duo Joins Sliders

SPRINGFIELD, IL – April 23, 2008 – Pitcher Jordan Westra and catcher Dan Killian from Kellogg Community College in Michigan will be playing for the Springfield Sliders this summer.  The Sliders begin their inaugural season on June 5^th at Robin Roberts Stadium.

Westra, a 6’5” sophomore, is off to a hot start for the Bruins this spring.  He has pitched 11 innings in two games and carries a 1.63 ERA.  The right-hander has struck out seven and walked four batters.

Killian, a 6’3” freshman, has been equally impressive this spring.  The left-handed hitter carries a batting average of .397 through 22 games.  In 73 at-bats he has eight doubles, two home runs, and 18 runs batted in.
