Sliders Win in 11 Innings

SPRINGFIELD, IL – July 13, 2008 – The Springfield Sliders won an 11 inning thriller Sunday night 5-4 over the Dubois County Bombers in Springfield in front of a crowd of 3331.  Both starters threw well with the Sliders' Dan Marcacci giving up 3 runs on 5 hits in 6 innings pitched while the Bombers' Michael Burgary also only allowed 3 runs giving up 6 hits in 5 1/3 innings.  Both bullpens were sharp with Springfield's Jason Nantz and Andrew Quinette along with Dubois County's Matt Antos, Corey Maine and Jarrett Casey allowing no earned runs the rest of the game.
 
Springfield was led offensively by Denny Vaughn's 3 hits and 2 runs scored and Ryan Mooney's 2 RBI.  The Bombers' Garrett Seagraves shinned reaching base three times including a 2-run homer.  The two teams meet tomorrow at Dubois County with a 7:30 first pitch.  

The Sliders return home Tuesday against the Dupage Dragons with 'Two for One Tuesday' presented by 103.7 WDBR and Bar-S Food at Robin Roberts Stadium.  Reserved seats will be two for $5 and two for one concession items.  First pitch at 7:05 pm with gates opening one hour prior to the game.
