SPRINGFIELD, IL – July 6, 2008 –
The
Springfield Sliders with a record of 19-4 were ranked number
16 this week in PGcrosscheckers.com's 'Summer 16' which
ranks the top 16 collegiate summer teams in the country.
Along with the national recognition two Sliders's pitchers,
Bryce Butt and Bryce Shafer, were named Co-Pitchers of the
First Half for the CICL. Bryce Butt finished the half with
a league tying best record of 4-0, a 3rd best ERA of 1.82, a
league leading 34.2 innings pitched, and a 2nd best 32 K's.
His counterpart, Bryce Shafer, also excelled with an
identical league best record of 4-0, an ERA of 2.03 ranking
him 5th, 31 innings pitched which is 3rd most, and led
everybody in the CICL with 43 K's. The Sliders have
clinched the CICL First Half Title putting them in the
best-of-three championship with the CICL Second Half
Champion on August 12, 13, and 14 if neccessary. Contact the

Robin Roberts Stadium this Monday and all weekend with the
